The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score. ~Bill Copeland.
Many people have goals but the difficult part for some of them is they have not learned to “set them” where they can be reached.
I will define Personal Growth as “working on yourself to improve areas of your life”. Defining Personal Growth is the beginning of the journey of areas we need improvement on, so that we can start having excellence in our Personal Growth and development.
Why is it so important to set goals? What will I get out of setting goals? Will I experience satisfaction as I go on this journey of learning about goals and why they are essential?
Why it so important to set goals? There are many reasons, but one that comes to mind as I am writing is You will become a “Forward Thinker”. Your thinking has to be intentional and moving forward. Forward Thinker simply means you want to be actively moving with a direction of accomplishing something you want.
You will be elated and your confidence level will get a boost. One goal accomplished will help you set more goals. The more goals you achieve the more success you will experience. The challenge of setting goals will benefit you and you will know what resonates within you. Yes as you work on goals, the satisfaction will come because you attempted something and you embraced the hard work. The life lessons you learn as you journey on knowing yourself and what you are capable of, will create a sense of “I am not backing down anymore”. They are essential because not only are you working out the kinks of your goals, but transformation is taking place on the inside of you.
Many people create a “To Do List” for the day and as they complete a task, they check it off. Then the next item comes up and they finish the task and so on and so forth. Why do we create a “To Do List”? They are goals that can be finish in one day or a week. It is still a goal. But for some reason, many do not relate their “To Do List” with goals. Yet they are the same. Personal Goals or Business Goals, they need our attention because they are important to us.
Setting goals will require your thinking cap on. Questions may arise regarding the time it will take to complete the goal. Maybe you will have the question regarding how much money you need to invest in this goal. Is the goal a challenge or is it easy? Remember as we are thinking about our goals, transformation is taking place.
The importance of Goals and why You Need to Set them is the success that comes from hard work. Anything you and I have an expectation of accomplishing, will for sure create success.
Goals are important because you will always move forward and advance to the next level.
Now over to you….
