Stepping Stones or Stumbling Blocks

March 29, 2012

We all have a journey to travel in this life. On this journey you will face challenges, which either become stepping-stones or stumbling blocks.  Your perception of challenges will determine how you travel this journey.

“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are”. ~Bernice Johnson Reaqon~.

One thing we all have in common, and that is that life has challenges for all of us.  Challenges may be at your place of employment, within your family with loved ones, and the places we worship, you name it and there are challenges to face. Challenges can become  stepping-stones, which you will take advantage of to give you leverage and propel you to another level. As you get to the next level you will experience a sense of accomplishment because you did not allow the obstacle to set you back, or relinquish your right to fulfillment. As you accept the challenges that come your way, your life will be redefine by your success and happiness. When you accomplish anything, the sense of well-being is amazing. It promotes a confidence that you can do it again.  Stepping Stones will need a reaction from you. Will you step through each stone or will you faint at the thought of how difficult it is? My friend, face the task in front of you. This is a call to action.

The other side of the coin (Stumbling Blocks) are meant to make you trip as you adventure in this journey.  Today you may be facing a situation that you think you cannot cope with.  The stumbling blocks can be defined as negative thought patterns, loss of employment,  some form of illness, the death of a loved one and the list goes on. Stumbling blocks are created to make you fall and not get up.  Stumbling blocks are obstacles that create pressure in the mind to keep you completely off focus. When you are off focus, your mind will play games on you  You will start agreeing with the negative thoughts telling you are a failure and then your confidence level will continue to descend.  Stumbling blocks should activate your creative juices and your faith to believe you can cross any boundary, climb any mountain, swim through any river, until you know you feel satisfied that your challenges were meant as stepping-stones, one stone at a time. You can and you will succeed. It is all a matter of the perception you have.  You will continue to explore new frontiers that will not frightened you, but the courage that is within, will rise up to complete this journey of adventure.

Step over every stone, and as you continue stepping over each stone, your path will become lighter and lighter.  You will see the dawn of a new day.  Confidence will be your portion.  When you arrive to your destination, you will never have any regrets of your experience.

Hi Gladys,
So true about how our mind will trick us once we allow it to. I have been there myself and I know that the mind can and will work against our greater good.

Life is supposed to be a fun experience full of joys and challenges.
